About Us
Who we are: James and Ray are just two people who have a heart for prayer, and for true Biblical unity. We have been involved in a variety of churches, and have worked together in the area of prayer ministry for the last five years.
Why we are doing this: It has been our experience that prayer efforts seldom involve more than one church or denomination. Even those that do tend to keep a narrow focus; Pentecostals do not associate with Baptists, and neither one will talk to the Presbyterians. Even rarer is a gathering of Whites with Blacks, Latinos, or First Nations (a.k.a. Native American) people. It is our sincere desire to help bring down those denominational and ethnic barriers, and bring the Body of Christ together for prayer and fellowship.
What we are not doing: This is not about false unity, or unity at all costs. Nor are we looking to partner with "Lone Ranger" Christians who are not under the authority of a local congregation. Our desire is to work with believers who understand that The Church is not defined as the building at the NW corner of ABC St. and XYZ Ave. Rather, we are looking for people who understand that the Church of Jesus Christ consists of all believers within a given community, who happen to belong to various congregations that meet in specific locations.
Who is a Christian: Christians tend to use many labels. Some just call themselves Christians, while others refer to themselves as "born again believers." Still others, because of some of the baggage attached to the name Christian, will refer to themselves as "followers of Jesus," or "followers of the Jesus way." Ultimately, Christians are those who have repented of their sins (Mark 6:12, Luke 5:32), and are willing to take up their cross and follow Jesus (Matt 16:24).
